These oversized shuttlecocks are the signature piece of the Nelson Atkins Museum in KC.

We got to see the scrolls at Union Station.  No photographs allowed.  This is a very impressive exhibit.

At the Truman museum, Pat stands face-to-face with the President.  We don't think he was this tall.

Paintings by Thomas Hart Benton can be found in KC and St. Louis.  This mural is in the Truman museum.

The weather was bad, but we could still see the Mississippi from the top of the Arch

Lew gets his cuts at the Louisville Slugger factory.  Ten fastballs for $1.  Best result was a weak grounder back to the pitcher.

Pat cools off with a mint julep. A mere $9 buys a refreshing drink and get to keep the glass.

Besides hats, the Derby features some fancy footwear.  Short skirts are easy on the eye.

Not all the fancy hats are worn by women.  This sombrero is big enough for three.

All things considered, this man's hat was my favorite.

Win some, lose some.  Winning exacta and trifecta tickets made up for a lot of bad picks.

This TV interviewer was asking three lovely ladies about their hats.  It takes a real man to wear a pink derby.

After a couple of mint juleps Packy explains some of the finer points of horse racing to Pat.

Here are a few of the 150,00+ in attendance.  See if you can find Queen Elizabeth.

Churchill Downs is famous for it's twin spires.  Here they are.
